Accommodation

All accommodation has been vetted either by myself or Ramesh, our Indian guide, and has been chosen for its atmosphere and cleanliness. We stay in palaces, forts, Havelis, private homes or tented accommodation. No rooms are standard but all have their own individual charm. All accommodation is based on twin sharing rooms with en suite facilities. Single Supplement. Single rooms are available but there will be a single supplement charged.

Transport

We travel either by luxury air conditioned coach, train or by Jet Airways internal flights. When out on safari we will travel either by jeep, land rover or elephant.

Passport and Visa Requirements

Your passport must have at least six months running after your return. A separate six month visa is required at a cost of approx. £30.00 forms available from the Indian High Commission or on line.

Language

Hindi is the most widely used language in India but English is commonly used. Ramesh our Indian guide will be with us throughout and he will be able to help if communication becomes difficult.

Currency

Indian Rupee is the currency used but sterling, US Dollars or Euro's can be exchanged. Sterling or Dollar travellers cheques can be exchanged widely.

Don't forget

A money belt, camera, (spare batteries, film, discs), binoculars, sun glasses or hat, small torch (there are many power cuts), universal plug for wash hand basin, two pin adapter, something war for evenings (it can get chilly after sundown), mosquito repellent, malaria pills, Immodium, (only taken if absolutely necessary), lock for case, a rucksack or large shoulder bag (for carrying your water, camera etc., while sight seeing), comfortable shoes, socks, wipes (running water isn't always available), a toilet roll can be useful.

If you are thinking of going horse riding, riding hats and boots are not available, so please bring suitable clothing ie: suitable shoes and trousers.
